USA TARRIFS

Firstly let me thank everyone for their orders and support. The USA market is a big chunk of our business so very important to us. We want to ensure that you all continue to enjoy the products we supply and still get great value for money.

Also its not time to panic as the UK to USA tarriffs are some of the smallest applied compared to other trading nations.

The USA announced updated tariffs on 2 April 2025. The US has announced that it will impose an additional 10% tariff on top of existing US duties, fees and taxes on imports from the UK. This came into effect on 5 April at 00:01 EST. Up till the 29th August 2025 the de minimis exemption had allowed goods valued at $800 or less to enter the US without paying any tariffs. We have no alternative other than to pass on the duties charged to our customers. Unlike exports to any other country we deal with all items sent to the USA will need to be sent as Duty paid before any items will be accepted into the USA. So what does it mean for us, and what does it mean for you as a USA customer?

Orders placed before today 20/8/25 that have not already shipped will ship as normal, and we will cover the fees, there may be initial delays in the system that extend the delivery times.

Any orders placed with ourselves after 19/8/25 will be subject to the tarriffs based upon the current tarriff rate based upon the items country of origin. For ourselves that means electronic items such as motors, servos and esc will be sent as "REPUBLIC OF CHINA" all of our kits and bespoke products are shipped as "United Kingdom"

So lets do a quick example (cost for reference only)

Lets Assume you Ordered a PUG DLG Kit

Pug DLG £50.00
Postage  £20.00
Total       £70.00

Duty is payable on both the Product and Postage

10% Duty  £7-00
Landed Cost £77-00

What we don't know at this stage is if any additional Handling charges are to be paid, and we wont know until the system updates on the 29th August (when were on Vacation!) The worst case is we may have to request a small additional Duty based charge for any orders to the USA placed after 19th August 2025. Should you not wish to pay the duty you would be entitled to a full refund before we have any new updates to this USA shipping policy

I've included a youtube video link for anyone interested that is an easy to follow update. Whilst its aimed at vendors such as myself it is possibly the best explanation to date.
